RememME.com – Save the Children : Anti Child Labour Campaign !

In Knowledge platoon on May 5, 2010 at 7:58 am

Dear Comrade,

Did you know there are close to 12.3 million children between the age of 5-14 working in different forms of labour i.e. roughly 3% of the total workforce of the country. They are being denied their rights to education and a safe childhood.

RememME.com as its CSR initiative have partnered with Save the Children that has long been concerned about the prevalence of child labour in India and actively engages with key stakeholders to raise awareness about the negative effect it has on the childhood and rights of a working child and on their prospects for future personal and professional development.

We are proud to be associated with this noble endeavor by Save the Children and endorse their 45-day campaign, starting April 30 to end child labour in India.

PLEDGE here your support!

Together, let’s give them back the childhood that they deserve!

RememME – a magazine that sets its own benchmark

In Knowledge platoon on March 30, 2010 at 11:43 am

In a world where glossy leafy magazines sprout more vigorously than live trees with glossy leaves, the birth of a new periodical hardly stirs the readers’ plummeting interest levels. The multitudes of glossy pages are mostly stacked with the written word piled into neat columns purporting to transform lives aka living of its readers. However, don’t be too haste in brushing all of them aside. Some among them manage to stand apart in the crowd on their own merit. Those ‘some’, like the unique ‘concept-driven’ magazine, RememME, leverage on their good ideas and create their own benchmarks.

The fundamentals of RememME, which opened its first chapter recently, are clear. This niche magazine hopes to create footnotes in the history of periodicals while many of its ilk perish in the race to recognition. RememME vows to initiate an endeavour in pursuit of a noble idea that will lead the reader to meaningful and significant changes rooted in everyday life — changes that can be redefined, reinvented and rediscovered. It also lends wings to the wannabe writers — to let them unleash their passion in a democratic forum.

RememME, a high gloss, 48-paged, 4-coloured magazine will feature an extensive collection of scoops around seven diverse subjects that aims to connect the web and print media and enrich human knowledge. Wide ranging topics will encompass Entrepreneurship ideas to over the top holistic, futuristic thinking designed to meet the shifting realities of change in Business & Management and emerging technology trends in Science & Technology. Apart from them, other subjects include Politics, Sports & Entertainment, Health & Lifestyle and Individual Life.

The promoters of RememME who attempt to establish its identity as the “Planet’s first Democratic monthly magazine” – by the people, for the people and of the people — claim, that writers, bloggers, researchers, doctors, professionals, to university students from across the globe can contribute to the magazine. Talking about the selection of the magazine’s contents, its management told Adgully that contributors have to first post their stories on various subjects on RememME.com. Based on the comments each article receives at the site and its popularity with the online community top three stories from each category are chosen to be published in the magazine.

With its highly well-researched content, thought-provoking and articulated write-ups, RememME hopes to impact the readers’ mind and carve a niche in the world of good reading. With circulation figures pegged at 5,000 copies the magazine’s readership spans leading corporate houses, embassies to libraries of B-Schools and Engineering colleges, claim its promoters.
